Overview

This document is a communication device for the project Sign Contractor to understand the form and

function of elements that constitute exterior sign elements. It includes scaled drawings, specifications and

a materials & finishes schedule for the preparation of shop drawings for the fabrication and installation of

signage for the Gulf Shores, AL wayfinding program.

This document is one of three documents that, together, constitute the Contract Documents.

legal property of Axia. The recipient acknowledges

that this material is proprietary and agrees not to use

or disclose this material, or to make copies or use

property known only by Axia. These drawings shall

not be used as shop drawings, rather as Design

Intent only. All dimensions, engineering compliance

and site conditions shall be verified by the contracted

fabricator/installer. Axia shall be notified of any and

all discrepancies, variations or substitutions from

these documents. Shop drawings, specification

details and samples shall be submitted to Axia for

approval prior to proceeding with fabrication. All final

sign messages and document specifications shall

be proofread by the client and legal requirements

checked by their legal counsel.

Production artwork, graphics, design concepts and

formulas shall be used solely for the execution of the

project represented in this document. They may not

be used in the course of future projects, resold or

reconstituted without Axia’s written consent.

It is the Fabricator’s responsibility to match all colors, finishes and materials specifiedin this document.

Please note that visual accuracy of the colors and finishes represented in this document may not be consistent with actual manufacturer’s swatches and samples due to limitations of color printing technology.

The Fabricator is required to appropriateactual color swatches and material samples from the manufacturer.

If a substitute or deviation is recommended by the Fabricator, the recommendation shall be proposed in writing with a demonstration of equal or better value for consideration by the City of Gulf Shores.

1. The distance between a vehicular guide sign and the next corresponding decision point on a street with a left turn lane or multiple lanes should be no less than 300 ft.

2. The distance between a vehicular guide sign and the next corresponding decision point on a single lane street should be no less than 200 ft.

3. The distance between 2 or more vehicular guide signs indicating turn options at the next decision point should be no less than 50 ft. and no more than 100 ft.1
