For over 60 years, Canada Mortgage and Housing

Corporation has been Canada’s national housing

agency. Established as a Crown corporation in 1946

by the federal government to address post-war

housing shortages, we have since helped generations

of Canadians access affordable housing or to purchase

their own homes, and we have contributed to the

development of a strong housing sector.
