1. ACTFL (American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages) & Council of Europe
Communication Skills can be categorized as Receptive and Productive.
Receptive Skills: Language acquisition by receiving information, namely Listening & Reading Skills.
Productive Skills: Language acquisition by producing information, namely Speaking & Writing Skills .
The relationship between Receptive and Productive Skills is a complex one, with one set of skills naturally supporting another e.g. building listening skills can contribute to the development of speaking.
Ability to speak clearly and coherently in an appropriate structure.
Ability to correctly pronounce words.
Appropriate use of pause.
Utilizing the power of voice modulation for emphasis.
Test module: A short duration speech, that is video recorded, followed by questions & answers.
Ability to comprehend spoken language.
Understand emphasis, tone and context.
Understand the difference between homophones from the context.
Test module: Recorded audio followed by questions; duration 30 minutes.

Objective: To assess the Communication Skills of a student and give a score card which would be used by the Placement Committee and would also be plugged into a course on Business Communication
Program: 3 days of assessment, 4 days for evaluation, compilation of scores and report-out
Post-Assessment Intervention: Training on Communication Skills as required for Summer Internships and Campus Placements
The Training will be conducted as:
Conduct a Group Discussion for the students to demonstrate the critical elements of making an impact during a Group Discussion. We employ innovative techniques of learning by doing and learning by observing peers in a Group Discussion
Conduct a Group Personal Interview wherein we would select a few volunteers to demonstrate the key elements of how to successfully face Campus Interviews.
We also propose to do one-on-one interviews to help students thoroughly prepare for their dream careers

Rajneesh’s professional experience of 24 years spans across Consulting (National Productivity Council), Manufacturing (Eicher Motors & Hindalco), FMCG (Gillette/ Duracell), Telecom (Vodafone), Hospitality (Oberoi) and Media (Network18).
He is an HR Generalist with exposure in each domain of HR. Arjun is an alumnus of Presidency College, Kolkata, (Economics) and XLRI’s PGDM (HRM) 2002-04 batch
He is an ex TAS (TATA Administrative Service) Graduate, having been recruited from the XLRI Campus.
Arjun has about 9 years of experience in General Management & Digital Marketing.
They have won numerous awards in their brief journey.
Sabya is a post-graduate in Economics from JNU, Delhi and MBA in HR from XLRI, Jamshedpur.
Has around 10 years of work experience and has designed and implemented a number of initiatives in various domains of HR enabling organisational growth.
He is a certified Coach, certified MBTI practitioner, certified Talent Analyst and certified Assessor in CII-Exim Bank Business Excellence Model and HR Excellence Model. He has conducted sessions in various Best Practice Sharing seminars organised by CII.
