What is a Concept Browser?

A knowledge management tool with many purposes

Efficient collaborative knowledge modeling tool

Interface for editing and styling RDF

Human interface for the Semantic Web

Presents knowledge in terms of maps: Context-maps

A special kind of conceptual models

Allows for browsing through context-maps like web pages

Concepts and concept relations can be

Annotated with metadata and content

Commented on by contributors

Used as gateways to other context-maps

In different languages

Collaborative Context-maps

One of the biggest strengths of Conzilla

Context-maps become conglomerates of contributions

Modifications are performed non-invasively

Support by Semantic Web technologies

Everything is centered around unique identifiers

Every map, every concept has a URI

Everybody can contribute to it, Wiki style

Maps can be published

URI and RDF models are announced to a collaboration server

Contributions are registered at the same server

The same collaborative map can look differently, depending on the activated contributions

The User Interface

Two different modes: browsing and editing

Various tools

Layer manager

Bookmarks

Contributions list

Session manager

Edit mode caveats

A context-map requires at least one session: contains seperated visual and non-visual information

Every contribution to a map is a session

Hands On

More fun than just showing screenshots

Causes of Terrorism

URI online in the WinterSchool Wiki
