The Clustering Approach to
Agroenterprise Development
Prior to the accreditation of their farmers group as cooperative in the Cooperative Development Authority (CDA), they were linked to a sure market with a stable price of their products through the assistance of Nueva Segovia Consortium of Cooperatives (NSCC), Local Government Units (LGUs) from the City Government of Vigan, Municipality of Caoayan and Sinait; who works as the Site Working Group (SWG) with the help of the Technical Working Group (TWG) composed by the National Livelihood Development Corporation (NLDC), Catholic Relief Services (CRS), and Jollibee Group Foundation (JGF).
With the effective implementation of the 8-step clustering approach to Agro-enterprise Development of the Farmer Entrepreneurship Program (FEP), farmers from the three selected sites: Vigan, Caoayan and Sinait became successful when it comes to marketing their produce to institutional markets such as Jollibee Foods Corporation (JFC) and Splash Foods Corporation.

* COORDINATES WITH CRS, NLDC and JOLLIBEE FOUNDATION ON DIFFERENT FEP MATTERS
On February 2013, Pantay Onion Producers Cooperative and Caoayan Onion Growers and Producers Cooperative delivered 20 tons of white onions to Zenith Foods Corporation based in Canlubang, Laguna. This year 2014, prior to the price negotiation conducted at Jollibee Plaza on December 5, 2013, the said cooperatives negotiated to deliver a total of 50 tons of white onions to the same market of Jollibee Foods Corporation for the Month of February to March.
• For the Sinait Garlic Center of the North Producers Cooperative, the Site Working Group together with the Technical Working Group is still looking for additional market for their products aside from Splash Foods Corporation.
• Caoayan Onion Growers and Producers Cooperative is providing technical assistance to Tagudin Farmers on how to grow white onions effectively.
