Application Process
You will be placed in one 12 month or 2 six month placements, designed to provide high challenge and
high support eg:
• Community Clinics Manager, Terrence Higgins Trust
• Assistant to the Chief Executive, Network Housing Group
• Finance Analyst, Action on Hearing Loss
• HR New Policy Development & New Initiatives, Together
• Diversity Strategy & Internal Communications Development, Alzheimer’s Society
• Business Development, Family Action
The Placements
A 12 month first level management programme, accredited by the ILM. There are 3 core modules:
• The Charity World
• The Role of the Manager
• Leadership
The Training Programme
Within the 3 modules, the programme covers a range of topics, led by various leaders across the sector e.g.
Two-day induction to the Charity Sector:Cath Lee (CEO of Small Charities Coalition)Oli Henman (EU Campaigns Manager at NCVO)Nick Starkey (Big Society team at the Cabinet Office).
Leadership:Keynote talk by Dame Mary Marsh (Director of the Clore Social Leadership Programme, former CEO of NSPCC, non-executive Director of HSBC Bank)
Governance:Facilitated by Helen Baker (Chair of Advance UK, Charity Chair of the Year 2011 at Third Sector Excellence Awards, Co-founder of charityworks) and including a keynote from Seb Elsworth (Director of Policy for ACEVO)
