The Deadline for the MFS Awards program is August 31 Institutions must successfully complete the MFS 2017 Survey and qualify for the 2017 MFS Designation. Leading institutions will be acknowledged through a series of Awards as Follows:

Overall MFS Leader Award: The single institution with the highest combined score across all MFS scoring categories. The Overall Leader will be selected from the Top 10 Finalists, all of whom will be recognized for their outstanding leadership in service to military and veteran students.

Category MFS Leader Award: The single institution within a peer group with the highest combined score across all MFS scoring categories.

MFS Performance Award Medalists: MFS Performance Awards are based upon the performance of the Leader in each category. In this way, medalist recipients are benchmarked against their respective peer groups, on a dynamic scale that helps to address both larger economic impacts and to promote continuous improvement that a static benchmark cannot address.

MFS Gold Medal Performance: Institutions must score within 5% of their category Leader to achieve this award designation.

MFS Silver Medal Performance: Institutions must score within 10% of their category Leader to achieve this award designation.

MFS Bronze Medal Performance: Institutions must score within 20% of their category Leader to achieve this award designation.

MFS Designation: Institutions must exceed the benchmark standards to be awarded the MFS Designation for 2017
