The Mover North East Region
Spring 2013
“Dance is bigger than the
physical body. Think bigger
than that. When you extend
your arm, it doesn't stop at
the end of your fingers,
because you're dancing bigger
than that: you're dancing
spirit. “
~ Judith Jamison ~
In the words Emeli sings, we can
certainly “shout all about” our
wonderful young dancers, who
love expressing themselves
through dance. KFAMoves
celebrates their achievements.

“Contrast” has only recently been created by Spectrum
Dance. They wanted to produce a dance piece that
showed both Lyrical and Street Moves, and “Read All
About It” fitted the bill perfectly. Look out for their
fantastic duos and solos!

YOUTH MOVES EXTRAVAGANZA – 17TH NOVEMBER 2014,
PARK VIEW COMMUNITY ASSOCIATION THEATRE, CHESTER LE STREET
An amazing show! Our Youth Moves and Young Adults have once again thrilled their audience. The
theatre was buzzing! A good size stage with professional lighting made this a spectacular night!
Linda’s infants danced along to “Let it Go” from Frozen. They were dressed in wonderful
outfits made by the very talented young adult, Zoe Adamson – every dress made to
measure. The children loved being dressed up and feeling special.
Janet was very proud of her girls. Some performed in
one item, others up to 4 items on the night!
Panorama and the Festival team were repeated,
along with 2 new items – a Charleston and a very
lively colourful item Mayhem!
Christine’s Spectrum Dance also pulled out all the
stops with fantastic items including a wonderful
contemporary dance and jazz dance, with some girls
performing in up to 6 items!! Amazing team
performances and personal performances also!
Spectrum Dance raised over £100 to pay for their tops
by selling cakes, and have started working on routines for
the Pulse and gala – Secondary Schools Performance.
Northern Lights certainly got the show on the road when they opened it with their National Festival item
Move. They performed French Connection again, and did bring the house down!! Amy Holden worked
hard behind the scenes getting teams on and off the stage efficiently. Amy Carter, another of our new
teachers, co-produced a guest contemporary item from Park View
School.
We are so proud of our Extravaganza – teachers, performers,
chaperones, volunteers, all worked together as a team and made this
fantastic night happen! We are all looking forward to next year’s
Extravaganza!
New Classes : Janet (7-11yrs, Tuesdays 5-6pm, Park View Community

Happy New Year to all our friends in the North East KFA!
We have been very busy over the last few months,
beginning with our Pink Night for Breast Cancer Research,
raising £260. Well done, ladies! And it was FUN!
A coffee evening was held at St Gabriel’s Church, and we
raised £245 for City Dance fees etc., and the remainder
£245 will go to Relapsing Polychondritis
Two theatre visits for The Lion King and Beauty and the
Beast, and then we had our AGM in November with a
super workout with Nicola Pilmoor - although attendance could have
been a little better.
Christmas Tea at Beamish Hall and class night out completed 2014
for us.
