Bangladesh Context : ICT in Education

In the context of growing demand of ICTs in everyday life, Bangladesh Government is focusing on the DIGITAL AGENDA. UNESCO has been providing support to Government of Bangladesh and NGOs to adopt ICTs as innovative approach to education.

Government plan : At a glance

• Primary school : By 2016 all Primary schools will have multimedia classroom

• Secondary schools :15,000 multimedia classroom setup is on process

To improve the confidence level of students in English skills.

To improve the confidence level of students in ICT skills.

To improve the ICT literacy of the students.

Project Outcome:

• More than 500 secondary level students English language & ICT skills were improved.

• More than 500 secondary level students will improve their confidence in using English & ICT.

• 20 facilitators will be trained and they can facilitate after school clubs successfully.
