Literacy Program

Expansion of the Dūcere SiP Program in 2014.

African Children’s Stories: Capturing oral tradition by writing stories passed on by parents, grandparents and tribal elders.

Fitzroy Literacy: a reading program for children.

Dūcere Publishing – Fitzroy Literacy• Fitzroy is a complete Literacy and

Reading Program• Primary Years 2 – 7• Phonics based• 7 sets of 10 booklets• 10 booklets in each set• Easy Teachers Guide to new sounds and

new words

• Each Class requires 4 sets of books at one time so each child has a book.

Teacher Training Provided by Dūcere when books are delivered. PTA’s will be trained as well.

2014 One Million Book Target1. Publishing and printing of the African

PROJECT OBJECTIVES

• Increase literacy• Encourage children to write creative

stories and capture their local traditions.

• Share African children’s stories with schools in the community

• Train teachers and parents to encourage pride and practice in writing.
