What do you see?

How is it different thanthe other Still Lifes we

have seen?

Still Lifes are:- good practice

- symbolic (the objects mean something)- inspired by personal likes and dislikes

Did you notice geometric and organic shapes?

Did you notice size variation?

Did you notice how objects were arranged - the placement of objects and how they overlapped?

Artists also used value in these still lifes – they showed light and dark

areas

How does value change how we look at artwork?What do the light areas show? What about the

dark areas?

Value is made up of 2 parts – tints (light) and shades (dark)

Look for the tints and shades.

Hue = color

Hues can be made lighter and darker

Don’t forget in your Still Life:

- geometric and organic shapes- placement and overlapping- size variation- value – tints and shades + hue- think about how it is personal to you- be careful, take your time, do the best you can
