Tamaya Oldenhoff, MBA
the Executive Secretary for the New Lisbon Area Chamber of Commerce, brings a wealth of business and leadership experience to our area.
A Wisconsin native (who is thrilled to be back home!), Tamaya moved to New England in 1989 where she completed her undergraduate studies at Boston College. For the next 10 years she worked as an entrepreneur in the wellness industry serving such clients as the New England Journal of Medicine, Harvard Medical Library, and BlueCross BlueShield.
Tamaya returned to school and completed her Master’s Degree in Business Administration focusing on Leadership Development and Human Resources at Endicott College in Beverly, MA. She also became certified as a Professional in Human Resource Management (PHR) with the international Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM). It is here that she discovered her true passion for facilitating leadership development in others so they may realize their maximum potential, and her true gift for training others. Tamaya’s corporate experience includes Human Resource Management, Corporate Training & Development, Operations, and
Strategic Planning with global leaders Wal-Mart (Logistics) and Grupo Elektra (Finance).
Tamaya has developed this Dine & Discover Program to create an accessible avenue for continued personal & professional development for individuals in the Greater New Lisbon Area while capitalizing on the knowledge, skills and abilities of local professionals.
In her spare time Tamaya loves hiking with her yellow lab (Luke), gardening, and writing. She also serves on the Board of Directors and actively volunteers with the non-profit organization Jeremiah’s Crossing, Inc. (Babcock, WI) where children with special needs are paired with horses for various equine-assisted activities that often have therapeutic and amazing results!

What you don’t know CAN hurt you!
by Kathy Behnke 608-847-2736
We live our lives by the numbers. You likely have phone numbers and PIN numbers memorized. You may also keep track of checking account and credit card numbers. Perhaps you even take an interest in hearing stock market and lottery numbers. But are you familiar with your heart health numbers? Knowing your blood pressure, blood sugar and cholesterol numbers could literally save your life! Why is knowing my heart health numbers so important? Each is an indicator for serious, chronic health conditions such as heart disease, stroke, kidney disease and diabetes. If these issues are left undiagnosed and untreated, they can lead to fur-ther health complications, poor quality of life, additional out-of-pocket healthcare costs, and even death. However, when problems are detected through regular screenings, the threats to your health can be treated, controlled and sometimes even eliminated. How can I find out what my current heart health numbers are? Attend the upcoming health fair and screening event offered by Mile Bluff on Thursday, January 9. It will take place in the community room of the Elroy Family Medical Center, which is conveniently located next to the schools on Academy Street. At the event, you will have the opportunity to spend one-on-one time with healthcare professionals who will perform screenings, discuss your results, and provide you with personalized health assessments and follow-up advice. What do Mile Bluff’s health fair events include? Free blood pressure checks, Free blood sugar screenings, Discounted cho-lesterol testing ($10 total cholesterol, $20 lipid profile), Free health risk assessments and advice, AND Refreshments and door prizes How can I reserve my spot for the health fair? Appointments are required for all tests, and are available between 7 and 11 am. Call 608-462-8466 to reserve your space. When you call, please indicate which screening(s) you would like to take ad-vantage of.

DONATE TO THE NEW LISBON SWIMMING POOL REPAIR FUND
The community pool is in need of repairs before it can open for the 2014 Summer Season. The estimated need of $75K has been diligently set aside to complete this work, however the actual cost will be $100K so we need to raise the additional $25K to accomplish this goal.
Help us to ensure the New Lisbon Pool will open this summer and continue to be safe for our children to use throughout the next decade! Please spread the word or even host your own fundraising event!
