Reasons to travel: People all around the world travel from

various reasons: tourism people want to see interesting places some people travel for business or for

political, cultural reasons or scientfic purposes

learning foreign languages getting to know new people, customs,

traditions,..

People have used travelling for a long time. One hundred years ago they travelled on horses, by carriages and of course on foot.

You can use your own means of transport and the other way is to rely on the public transport.

People and goods can by transported by land, by air or by water.

At the airport At the airport we go through: the passport control, security check and

customs.

Our luggage is checked (check-in) and then we wait until the plane is ready to take-off.

We board the plane and put our hand luggage into the locker.

We fasten our seat belt. A stewardess explains how to put a lifejacket,

brings us our meal and sells duty free goods. The plane lands.
