The ESS tutoring program began the week of September 24—28th. What is ESS? The Extended School Services pro-
gram provides extended instructional time for students who need more time to meet the academic goals for their
grade level. Any student at the high school can participate with or without a referral by a teacher or administrator. ESS does not interfere with regular classroom instruction because it is provided outside normal school hours (after
or before school and in the summer). It is a free program to all students. ESS can offer all students a boost in all content areas to ensure that all students learn at a high level.
The culture at the school is changing into a more positive, engaging attitude. The students are winning in the class-

The MCHS Honor Choir has been invited to perform with the Asbury University Chorale at Asbury University in Wil-
more Kentucky on October 11, 2012.
It is a rare and unique opportunity for a high school choir to perform with any college choir, particularly one with a
nationwide reputation for excellence like the Asbury Chorale. The Honor Choir members have worked hard to pre-pare a demanding, college – level program for the concert. The Honor Choir will perform selections by Orban, Ber-
ger and other composers during their featured part of the program. They will also perform several selections with the Asbury Chorale. The Honor Choir has performed with the University of Kentucky Choirs, Morehead State Uni-
versity Choirs and other outstanding collegiate choral programs and looks forward to the is exciting opportunity at Asbury University on October 11, at 7:30pm in Hughes Auditorium.
