Objective

• To present an overview of an application case of

SARCoN as the core methodology for the Training

Needs Assessment at the Mexican Regulatory

Body Nuclear Safety Division (NSD)

Previous Work

• In 2006, the Mexican Regulatory Body

established a contract with the Autonomous

National University of Mexico (UNAM) to develop

a TNA for the Nuclear Safety Division (NSD),

having the IAEA TECDOC-1254 as the main

reference to the Systematic Approach to Training

• Use SARCoN ver. 15.0 draft as core TNA methodology• Use SARCoN Knowledge, Skills and Attitudes (KSA) as the KSA

basis. Non applicable KSAs might be deleted, but additional KSAs could be added as needed to carry on the NSD tasks and duties.

1. Update of the NSD TNA. Information to be considered:

a) The training for the NSD staff, during the period 2006-2011

b) The results of the performance evaluations, for the period

2006-2011.

c) The training and skills of the new staff, and the promoted and

transferred personnel from other areas, during the period 2006-

2011

d) The changes in the NSD processes during the period 2006-

2011

e) The changes introduced by the NSD strategic planning
