Collaboration on Regional Infrastructure Projects

Collaboration on regional projects is already happening and there is potential for much more further collaborative work on upstream and investment (e.g. co-financing, sharing pipelines, etc.)

Evidence is limited overlap.

ICA members provided a few projects in each of the four infrastructure sub sectors (Transport, ICT, Energy and Water) where collaboration is happening or foreseen in order to kick start discussions.

Collaboration on Regional Infrastructure Projects

From the inputs received, here are examples of potential projects for enhanced collaboration under the following sectors : Transport completion of missing road links and bridges on the Trans-African- Highways Energy interconnection of regional networks and generation to address the energy crisis ICT completion of missing links in broadband infrastructure and creation of centres of excellence to meet Connect Africa Summit goals Water support for river and lake basins, and WSS projects to meet specific MDG targets
