Test Information

MethodCollagen VII IgG serum antibody level determined by enzyme linked immunosorbent assays (ELISA). (anti-Type VII collagen ELISA kit, MBL International). See Compliance Statements B & D: www.aruplab.com/CS.

UseAid in the diagnosis of epidermolysis bullosa acquisita and monitor disease activity and therapeutic response. Collagen VII IgG antibody levels also may be increased in bullous lupus erythematosus, inflammatory bowel disease and Crohn's disease.

ConsiderationsUse of this test with Epithelial Basement Membrane Zone Antibodies by indirect immunofluorescence (IFA) will increase sensitivity and further define the disorder.

Repeat testing recommended for indeterminate results and/or continuing clinical consideration of the disease, persistence, and/or worsening disease activity.
