ENVIRONMENTAL EDUCATION AND AWARENESS
PROGRAMS AND INITIATIVES
Participated actively in providing relevant inputs in the
Code of Practice for Refrigeration and Air-conditioning
facilitated and produced by EMB-DENR.
Under Part 1of the Code of Practice,
Section 1- TESDA Certification on Technicians, states that:
1.1 Only service technicians who have passed the assessment by TESDA shall be
given certification;
1.2 Each Certified Technician shall be assigned with a certification number and their
list will be maintained in a database at TESDA;
1.3 Only Certified Technicians will be allowed to perform service/repair works
on RAC equipment/system;
1.4 Only Certified Technicians will be allowed to purchase refrigerants listed under
the Montreal Protocol Controlled Substances, and
1.5 Only Certified Technicians will be allowed top operate a Recovery and
Recycling Machine.
Conducted training of all automotive trainers in all TESDA
Technology Institution (TTIs) nationwide to get acquainted on
the conversion of gas-fed to LPG-fed motor vehicles as part
of the expanded competency for Automotive Servicing NC II.
Conducted training and provided TTIs Php 650,000 worth
of equipment to be use for training of competency on the
recovery and recycling of refrigerants.
Conducted retro-fitting of RAC-MAC equipment for
Ozone Depleting Substance (ODS) such as CFC.
Conducted re-testing of equipment for the recovery
and recycling machines and refrigerant cylinders.
Developed and deployed Learning Materials to
the TTIs on the recovery, recycling and retro-fitting
for RAC Servicing NC I & II and TRAC Servicing NC II.
In collaboration with Department of Agriculture (DA),
TESDA is developing Contextual Learning Matrix
to determine environmental concerns on agriculture
related courses/qualifications being conducted by TTIs.
TESDA agricultural schools distributes fruit-
bearing trees to rural communities under the
Plant-for-Life Program of TESDA.
These programs and initiatives served as TESDAs contribution to
promote national awareness on the importance of environmental
conservation and ecological balance to the trainees and students
of tech-voc education and training (TVET) sector in compliance with
directives stipulated R.A. 9512.
