Profile of the

obsessed

2

Profile of the Obsessed“To have the mind excessively preoccupied with a single emotion or topic.”

3

Mark 12:30

And you shall LOVE THE LORD YOUR GOD with ALL your HEART,

and with ALL YOUR SOUL, and with ALL YOUR MIND, and with

ALL YOUR STRENGTH.'

4

LoversWe should always be nice to people so they will know we are Christians?

Is that our ministry?

“Wow” they are such nice people I bet they are Christians!

5

“There needs to be much more to our Faith than being nice friendly, polite and kind!

Many Christians aren’t as nice as our Non-Christian friends!

6

Luke 6:32-33

32: If you love those who love you, what credit is that to you? For even sinners love those who love them. 33: If you do good to those who do good to you, what credit is that to you? For even sinners do the same.

7

Luke 6:34

34: If you lend to those from whom you expect to receive, what credit is that to you? Even sinners lend to sinners in order to receive back the same amount.

8

Luke 6:35-36 35: But love your enemies, and do good, and lend, expecting nothing in return; and your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High; for He Himself is kind to ungrateful and evil men.  36: Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful.

He is kind and merciful to us!

9

True Faith!• True faith Is Loving someone after you have been hurt!

• True Love makes you stand out!

* Have you ever reached out to someone that has

hurt you?

11

That’s Crazy Love!

And it’s found “only”

Through Christ !

12

We are commanded to Love our Enemies!

Who are your enemies?

Or who are the People you avoid or who are the people that avoid you?

13

Who are the people that have hurt you?

Or, your family, children or friends?

Are you willing to do good to them and reach out to them?

That is exactly what Christ asks us to do!

14

Was it me?

Did you ever go out to lunch or to dinner with someone, maybe a (Christian) you didn’t like to be around just to try to be obedient to God?

15

 Luke 14:12-14

12: Then Jesus said to his host, "When you give a luncheon or dinner, do not invite your friends, your brothers or relatives, or your rich neighbors; if you do, they may invite you back and so you will be repaid.

16

13: But when you give a banquet, invite the poor, the crippled, the lame, the blind,

14: and you will be blessed. Although they cannot repay you, you will be repaid at the resurrection of the righteous."

17

•Do you give to those who can’t repay you?

•To those who would do you harm if they could?

•To those who have already done you harm?

This is Christ’s Love for us!

18

• The Love for equals is a human thing!

• Everyone can Love those who Love!

• Friend for friend!

• Brother for Brother!

How about the less fortunate?

Can you love them the same way?

19

20

21

Proverbs 14:20

The poor is hated even by his neighbor, But those who love the rich are many.

“Self Interest”

22

James 2:5

Listen, my beloved brethren: did not God choose the poor of this world to be rich in faith and heirs of the kingdom which He promised to those who love Him?

* Why do you think God chose the Poor?

23

You don’t have to be poor! The Poor just have less to give up to see Gods Grace!

The Journey to Christ is shorter for those who have less!

They are more capable of complete Surrender to Christ!

24

Risk TakersHow do you pray when you or a loved one are going on a trip?

Dear God please bring me closer to you during this trip whatever it takes!

Could you pray this?

25

Greatest Teacher of Prayer !

Mark 14:36

"Abba, Father," he said, "everything is possible for you. Take this cup from me. Yet not what I will, but what you will."

26

Friends of All 1Timothy 6:6-76: But godliness with contentment is great gain.

7:For we brought nothing into the world, and we can take nothing out of it.

27

10: For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many .

1Timothy 6:10

28

Crazy OnesSometimes I feel when I make decisions that are remotely biblical, people who call themselves Christians are the first to criticize and say I’m crazy, that I’m taking the Bible too literally, or that I’m not thinking about my family’s well being.

Frances Chan

29

•It’s not fair to your kids!

•It’s not a prudent financial choice!

•You are doing it just for show!

-Or-

•Are you crazy for not giving more, serving more, being with your creator

more!

30

The HumbleThe Church of America loves to turn Saints into Celebrities, to make known the stories of humble people who have faithfully served Christ in some way.

31

•There is much good that comes from that

•But there can be a tragic consequence to it!

32

Isaiah 42:8

I am the LORD, that is My name;I will not give My glory to another,Nor My praise to graven images.

33

For a Preacher or Teacher!

Honoring God!

34

Proverbs 11:2 When pride comes, then comes dishonor, But with the humble is wisdom.

1 Corinthians 1:31  so that, just as it is written, LET HIM WHO BOASTS, BOAST IN THE LORD."

35

Matthew 5:16

Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven.

Givers...36:Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?“

37: Jesus replied: " 'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.

Matthew 22:36-37

38

Matthew 22:38-39

38: This is the first and greatest commandment.

39:And the second is:

• Leviticus 19:18

• Matthew19:19

• Mark 12:31

• Mark 12:33

• Luke 10:27

41

The EngrossedDeuteronomy 6:4-94: Hear, O Israel! The LORD is our God, the LORD is one!  5: You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might.

42

6: These words, which I am commanding you today, shall be on your heart.

7: You shall teach them diligently to your sons and shall talk of them when you sit in your house and when you walk by the way and when you lie down and when you rise up.

43

8: You shall bind them as a sign on your hand and they shall be as frontals on your forehead.

9: You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates.

Every fiber of humanity is addressed!

44

Our goal as people who follow Christ should be no less than becoming people who are madly in Love with Christ!

Frances Chan

45

Unguarded Ones

• Our Confessions with each other!

• Our expectations of fooling God!

To have true intimacy with God we need to be transparent and

vulnerable!

46

The Rooted

The average Christian in the United States spends 10 Minutes with God each day!

And 4 hours watching television!

47

Psalm 1:1-2

1: How blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked,Nor stand in the path of sinners,Nor sit in the seat of scoffers! 2: But his delight is in the law of the LORD, And in His law he meditates day and night.

48

The Dedicated

James 1:2-3

2:Consider it all joy, my brethren, when you encounter various trials,  3:knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance.

49

• We don’t just lose Joy as though one day we have it and the next day it is gone!

• Circumstances during difficult times may seem that our Joy is seeping away!

• If we stay faithful to Gods word our Joy will remain and flourish!

50

Sacrificers Psalm 50:9-13

9: I shall take no young bull out of your house Nor male goats out of your folds. 10: For every beast of the forest is Mine, The cattle on a thousand hills.

51

11: I know every bird of the mountains,And everything that moves in the field is Mine.

12: If I were hungry I would not tell you,For the world is Mine, and all it contains.

52

34: For who can know the Lord’s thoughts?      Who knows enough to give him advice? 35: And who has given him so much      that he needs to pay it back? 36: For everything comes from him and exists by his power and is intended for his glory. All glory to him forever! Amen.

Romans 11:34-36 (New Living Translation)

53

When people gladly sacrifice their time ,comfort or home it is obliviously that they trust in the promises of God.

Do we Love others as much as we love ourselves?

Do we love those in need as much ?

God doesn’t just ask us to give to those in need, he asks us to love them as much as we love ourselves!

56

• We can’t contribute to God

•He has everything and is complete

•When we are in God’s Presence all we can do is praise him!
