That’s why, over the years, we’ve supported so many. Huge ideas, of
course, from the world’s top musical artists, performers and sports
teams. But also ideas from thousands of others - riggers, engineers,
architects, even rocket scientists. At Litestructures, physically and
literally, we support anyone with the imagination, determination and
desire to create a memorable event.
Ideas are everything

been relentlessly refined and improved over the years, while maintaining seamless construction compatibility with earlier versions of the product. AstraLite remains the preferred choice for any application where compact size and low weight must be combined with workable load capacities.
Back in 1983, the touring entertainment market was stunned by the launch of AstraLite, the world’s first modular aluminium trussing system. Introduced years before widespread acceptance of the trussing format, AstraLite was originally conceived as a structural solution to the requirements of touring acts, television studios and nightclubs. The original AstraLite system has

tracks are usually limited in span to less than a couple of
metres; in contrast, spans of up to five times that distance can
be accommodated using LiveLite technology.
LiveLite is available in a range of sizes and specifications,
ensuring that any environment can be maximised rather than
merely accommodated. Every product retains the core
advantages - and embraces the trademark technical
aesthetics - that are a signature of this high-performance
range. All LiveLite systems are available powder coated in any
RAL colour to special order.
Introduced in 1991, LiveLite is a unique fusion of modular
aluminium trussing and track lighting systems. The extra-
ordinary flexibility of this combination opens a world of options
past the point of finalised design. Structures can be recon-
figured, and lights can be relocated, with assured performance
no matter how the space will be used.
LiveLite’s core versatility is allied to the aesthetic and functional
benefits of aluminium truss. This technology has become a
staple build methodology in many industries, largely due the
combination - provided by the lattice design - of very rapid
assembly and incredible strength-to-weight ratios.
This structural advantage is best demonstrated by comparison
to standard track lighting systems. Single unitary aluminium

All loading figures are based on Uniformly Divided Suspension Points and a suspended load in each of the fields. In all other cases, this loading data is NOT valid. If loads are unevenly divided, instability will occur. For more details and loading figures of other diameters, please visit our website.• The absence of diagonal braces at the top and/or bottom side of the truss means a dramatic reduction in the allowable loading; a structural report per
situation is required for these models. • Loading figures are based on German DIN standards; to comply with BS 7905-2 / ANSI E1.2-2006 / CWA 15902-2, the loading data must be multiplied

E20 CIRCULAR TRUSS
29
Litestructures supplies a wide range of circular, elliptical and curved trussaffording total f NC rolling techniques to ensure thatcurves are made to the same exacting accuracy as our straightcomponents so that a structure is both visually appealing and
easy to use. When combined with Litestructures vast array of optionalpowder-coated finishes, curved structures can be used to make a bold andunique design statement.
2 CHORD CIRCLE - HORIZONTAL ORIENTATION - FLATThis provides the perfect solution where space dictates shallow depth for a ‘feature’ structure. Note that, in any horizontal orientation, 2-tube circles are not specifically intended for structural use. Please consult Litestruc-tures if you have a specific structural requirement for this configuration.
3 CHORD CIRCLE - APEX INThis type of circle is regularly used for projection screens, primarily because the cross sectional symmetry allows the screen to be mounted centrally. Additionally, these circles have a flat outside perimeter, which can be particularly useful for mounting graphic boards or cladding.
3 CHORD CIRCLE - APEX OUTThis type of circle is regularly used for projection screens, primarily because the cross sectional symmetry allows the screen to be mounted centrally. Additionally, these circles have a flat outside perimeter, which can be particularly useful for mounting graphic boards or cladding.
CIRCLES AND CURVES
4 CHORD CIRCLEFour chord circles offer the highest possible load ratings in circular form. Having a square cross section, they are particularly stiff in both planes, and can be used in a variety of structural applications. The symmetrical shape also makes the rigging of the circle, and suspension of any loads from it, a very straightforward task.
3 CHORD CIRCLE - APEX DOWNThis is the standard orientation for a 3-tube circle, allowing it to be rigged easily in a horizontal orientation, providing a single bottom chord for the mounting of lighting or sound equipment. For this reason, 3-tube apex down circles are particularly popular in nightclub and leisure installations.
2 CHORD CIRCLE - VERTICAL ORIENTATION - UPRIGHTUtilising the 2-tube format in a vertical orientation adds significant struc-tural strength to the arrangement. As such, 2-tube vertical circles are often used as a cost-effective feature for lightweight support in entertainment, retail or architectural applications.

Standard cornersThe standard corner range provides 2-to-6-way corners at
several angles, from 45 to 135 degrees.
In addition, Litestructures manufactures a series of specially
designed corners, such as the pyramid corner or swivel corners.
For more information on these or on special, custom-made
corners, please contact the Prolyte Group’s Customer Services.
Corners All Litestructures standard truss Series’ are complemented by
a broad range of standard and box corners. Combining corners
with straight or curved trusses makes it possible to construct an
endless variety of configurations in terms of structure or grid.

Litestructures with the challenge to design and construct the
large and complex structures required, working from an original
design concept by set designer, Bart Clement. Turning the
concept into functioning reality took just eleven weeks, which
was a remarkable achievement, given that the construction
was entirely from non-standard, bespoke components.
So we had to, you might say, get our skates on.
Client: Stage Entertainment Location: Touring
The Prolyte Group has completed many technical firsts in the
world of trussing. A perfect example of our ability to innovate
and deliver lies in our embodiment of “Elements” Holiday On
Ice. This internationally famous ice show, which is owned and
managed by Dutch firm, Stage Entertainment, provided a
perfect opportunity to showcase Prolyte’s dedicated brand.

PROJECTS & INSTALLATIONS
46
Client: Deparcom Location: Murcia, Spain
Located on the outskirts of Murcia in Spain, Nueva Condomina
is the largest shopping centre in Mediterranean Europe and has
been designed around an underwater theme.
Recognising that a large space needs to make a big statement,
Deparcom approached the Prolyte Group to design, produce
and install several very large structures. Some featuring waves
up to 100 m long, all designed to animate the main foyer and
entrances with flair and style.
From this demanding brief, Litestructures, the brand that
specializes in bespoke manufacturing, quickly produced
3-D visuals and walk-throughs as part of the preview process.
Once accepted, the freeform designs, which also feature stretch
PVC cladding, were pre-built at Prolyte Products UK, the entire
task being completed in less than 2 months from instruction
to installation.

Client: Red Bull Racing Location: All F1 Venues
The Prolyte Group is very much at home in the high tech, high
performance world of Formula One. Accordingly, we have now
provided 3 key elements for Red Bull and Scuderia Toro Rosso,
including stands, garage structures and the all-important
telemetry pod.
After the drivers and the cars themselves, the telemetry pod
is arguably the most important resource, seeing constant use
during practice, the race itself and for post-event analysis of
data. It needs to be structurally strong and stable, incorporating
monitors and associated electronics as well as seating and
weatherproofing, yet it also needs to be of minimum weight,
easy to assemble and dismantle for trucking.
Having excelled with our custom design and build for the previ-
ous year’s campaign, Red Bull came directly to Litestructures,
not only for their own new season’s requirements, but also
similar structures for their sister team, Scuderia Toro Rosso.
The equipment inventory included 8 Astralite garage sets,
12 individual work stations plus LED feature lighting and a
viewing area for the pit garage.

Client: Best of the Best PLC Location: Gatwick Airport
Selling what are essentially raffle tickets, offering the chance to
win a supercar, the prize being on display in airport departure
lounges, was evidently such a good idea that the company
behind the concept, Best Of the Best (BOTB), recently achieved
PLC status. Presentation was and is clearly vital, and it wasn’t
long before BOTB approached the Prolyte Group to produce for
them a display stand format which would enhance sales. The
stand illustrated (at Gatwick South Terminal) supports two road-
legal supercars, and provides integrated power and
AV connectivity, using Cat5 cabling, courtesy of Digitruss.
The structure itself uses LiteDeck and polished AstraLite
AO3 modular components, adapted to accommodate cabinets
for P.O.S. materials, arresting LED lighting and video display
monitors. BOTB understands that impactful display is crucial
in stimulating sales. Litestructures, the Prolyte brand for
installations, understands how to achieve this.
