It’s complicated: The teen years of the internet of things.

@iotwatch

Hi I’m Alex.

I design everyday products that take advantage of new technologies

Know-Cards

I share my experiences and let others share theirs.

I help my clients make things themselves and learn from that process.

Everything is amazing right now and nobody’s happy.

We’re living in-between worlds.

We’re trying to make sense of the modern world with old business processes

We’ve run out of ideas.

Incremental innovation beats radical innovation.

Software success stories cannot be transposed onto hardware.

Because of Christmas.

We’re confused about the difference between the internet of things and ‘smart’.

We have no standards or regulations.

We have no ethics.

We don’t know what we’re doing.

This is why it matters.

Something with many parts where those parts interact in multiple ways.

Hardware, Software, Certification, Marketing, Distribution, Sales, Customer Service, Finance.

We have invented new innovation processes.

We’re in the business of being patient.

We’re prototyping.

We’re prototyping some more.

We’re working with professionals.

We’re learning about supply chains.

We shape our products which in turn shape us.

We need to learn to see beyond what we want to see what we need.

We need more consumer products for the elderly,, for the disabled, for sustainable global living.

The winners will be the ones who can help change our behaviour for the better.

All you have to do is jump.

I’m afraid there is no money.

Good luck! Thank you. alex@designswarm.com @iotwatch
