How to innovate in a connected world

TAT is a 180 people company licensing user interface software to big companies. Our technology is in one in seven mobile

phones produced worldwide.

And I am here to talk about how we innovate. In particular how we are using

the world’s collective intelligence.

The goal of the innovation process

To in minimal cost and time create as much customer

value as possible

Being open about innovation and development is a piece of cake technically nowadays

Being open about innovation and development is a piece of cake technically nowadays

We know who’s

watching.

And we get their feedback.

Here we measure it more as interest.

We are starting to communicate with people directly, all over the world

We can now talk to millions

But, it is not a one way line.

And people are willing to help

you.

This summer we opened up the discussion further

Three fields selected by us

People could vote which field

And chat with us to influence further

And we visualized the progress continuously

And summarized each day

And then finally put the result on YouTube

I think of open innovation as

asking for tips on good dinner in

Shanghai

But, “Many hands make light work” is not at all true :)

‣the more people are involved, the more time you have to spend managing the process

‣people will never innovate for you, but can help with direction and input

‣transparency in the process is essential for it not to backfire

But, “Many hands make light work” is not at all true :)

Thanks!
