PROTEA HOTEL MIDRAND COMPLETES ROOM REFURBISHMENT March 2014: The deluxe Protea Hotel Midrand, conveniently located between Johannesburg and Pretoria and a favourite among executive travellers and conference organisers alike, has just completed a refurbishment of all 177 bedrooms. The hotel, which includes the delightful Palm Terrace Restaurant and Camelot Spa, has 101 standard rooms, 8 executive rooms, 17 deluxe rooms, 6 suites and 2 universal access rooms. Earth-tone rooms that were previously accented in wood and dark red have been transformed to light dove grey spaces with white and olive green accents. Protea Hospitality Group Director of Sales, Marketing and Revenue, Danny Bryer, says new cupboards, desks, pedestals and headboards were also installed, additional plug points and improved lighting. “Protea Hotel Midrand is celebrating its 20 th anniversary this year and while it has been kept current in terms of design throughout its life, modern travellers’ needs are changing which drives us to continually ensure our product offering from both a physical and service standpoint remains relevant and aligned to anticipating, meeting and exceeding future travellers expectations. “The redesigned rooms are elegant and calm spaces with enough power points for travellers to charge multiple electronic devices, and comfortable work spaces which are critical for our executive GUESTS.” Bryer says Protea Hotels properties are continually assessed to ensure they maintain and exceed brand standards. “There are a number of hotels undergoing refurbishment and plans for several more to be done during the course of 2014. It’s an ongoing process,” says Bryer.

PROTEA HOTEL MIDRAND COMPLETES ROOM REFURBISHMENT

March 2014: The deluxe Protea Hotel Midrand, conveniently located between Johannesburg

and Pretoria and a favourite among executive travellers and conference organisers alike,

has just completed a refurbishment of all 177 bedrooms.

The hotel, which includes the delightful Palm Terrace Restaurant and Camelot Spa, has 101

standard rooms, 8 executive rooms, 17 deluxe rooms, 6 suites and 2 universal access rooms.

Earth-tone rooms that were previously accented in wood and dark red have been

transformed to light dove grey spaces with white and olive green accents.

Protea Hospitality Group Director of Sales, Marketing and Revenue, Danny Bryer, says new

cupboards, desks, pedestals and headboards were also installed, additional plug points and

improved lighting.

“Protea Hotel Midrand is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year and while it has been kept

current in terms of design throughout its life, modern travellers’ needs are changing which

drives us to continually ensure our product offering from both a physical and service

standpoint remains relevant and aligned to anticipating, meeting and exceeding future

travellers expectations.

“The redesigned rooms are elegant and calm spaces with enough power points for travellers

to charge multiple electronic devices, and comfortable work spaces which are critical for

our executive GUESTS.”

Bryer says Protea Hotels properties are continually assessed to ensure they maintain and

exceed brand standards.

“There are a number of hotels undergoing refurbishment and plans for several more to be

done during the course of 2014. It’s an ongoing process,” says Bryer.
