18 Individual Wooden Cottages are set in the valley at the foot of Mt. Zwe Kabin. Our soft opening begins in 2014. The cottages are spacious and offer privacy. They are furnished with both modern & traditional facilities and we are committed to excellent service. Hpa An Lodge’s Restaurant serves International and Local Traditional Cuisine and also welcomes walk-in guests. The swimming pool and poolside terrace facing Mt.

Zwe Kabin are an ideal place to relax with chilled drinks after a long day of visits.

Places of Interest in Hpa-An & Around Hpa-An

Mt. Zwe Kabin offers fabulous view of the city from the top of the mountain and is one of the famous landmarks of Karen State. It is 772meters (2532feet) high. This sacred mountain has several thousand identical Buddha statues lined up at its base. Of striking beauty, brick steps lead to the summit, where climbers are rewarded by panoramic views of the state.

Continue with a short walk to the waterfalls where you will enjoy drinks to soothe yourself at local restaurant. Visit Kyauk Ka-Lat, a pagoda which is built on layers of natural rock formations. Flanked by a Lake, the scenery guarantees a great photo .

Kaw Goon Cave

Visit Kaw Koon Cave also known as the ‘Cave of the Ten Thousand Buddhas’; Walk through the hidden treasures cave to see more than 2000 votive tablets of Lord Buddha and Mon inscriptions. There are many cultural heritage evidences in Kaw Goon Cave terracotta votive tablets on its interior stone walls, carve statues on limestone & sandstone Buddha statues with mural paintings in ink inscriptions.. (13th Century AD)

Just on the way to city, stop at Bayint Nyi Cave, a beautiful natural cave on the mountain with views of paddy fields. There is a natural hot water spring where locals come to worship and pray for prosperity and good health. In addition to viewing the many Buddha statues you will also see many beautiful stalagmites and stalactites which have formed naturally over the centuries.

In Kadoe Kawnat village, visit Kawnat Monastery, a magnificent building featuring beautiful woodcarving. It was built a century ago by a villager named U Nar Ouat, who was famed in those days for his wealth and generosity. Thanks to his donation, this religious site was built near his native village.

Bayint Nyi Cave

In the evening, right after the sunset, leave town for a while just across the Than-Lwin Bridge to witness thousands of Bats leaving their cave in groups for their night hunt. An amazing and fun experience!!

After the breakfast, embark on traditional river boat cruising the Famous Than Lwin River (Salween) for 2 to 3 hours up

stream and see the secluded river views and lime stone caves/mountains. For those, who would like to do some village

excursions, the boat will stop at typical villages to discover rural Myanmar-Karen daily lifestyles and their peaceful way

of living. OR Simply choose for Sunset River Cruise in the afternoon to see the natural beauty of the River at Sunset.

Just outside of the city stop at Kha Yon Cave, a beautiful natural cave where locals come to worship and say their prayers to ask for good health and prosperity. Kha-Yone Cave is one of the natural limestone caves in Kha-Yone Village, (Kyaikmayaw Township) in Mon State to the direction of Mawlamyine. The significant cultural heritage of Kha-Yone Cave is it’s terracotta votive tablets on the interior walls and on the ceiling. (17th Century AD)

A few kilometers drive from Hpa-An, SADAN CAVE, is a natural cave that can be crossed during a 15-20 minutes’ walk through a long dark tunnel (there is Electricity) till you find an opening natural paradise. From the exit, take a small canoe ride, passing under the stone cave and through endless paddy fields surrounded by natural landscape.
