Håkan and the teams at Rapadalen

Between Sitajaure and Saltoloukta we saw the first reindeer. Luckily the dogs didn’t see them and the wind

blew in the right direction.

The trail down to Saltoloukta was quite steep so we were very glad that there was some newly fallen snow in the trail.

Going up from Teusajaure, 300m in about 2km.

Going from Kaiutumjaure towards Singi, nice weather and good trails.

Sälka ahead of Sälkamassivet

Good speed towards Allesjaure

I wonder, has anyone gone sledging on sand from Shara? It might be hard to see, but the snow is striped brown by the Sahara sand which came

falling down in the mountain brought by the storm wind during the night.

Going to Abisko on lake Abiskojaure – this was very wet.

In Abisko we missed the right way to STF-hostel and therefor we had to cross the railway and

lots of roads which took us a while. Fortunately someone told us that we could go under the big

road so at least we didn’t need to cross that.

It felt as Torne Träsk was never

ending, and the trail beeing wet and

heavy didn’t make it any better.

The dogs seemed to enjoy sleeping on the

bare ground. They even found some berries (from last autumn)

which they ate.

They seemed to feel secure as the tent was nearby

16/4 second day on Torne Träsk. Since we got up early the trail was

much better.

On the 17/4 we felt there was a snow

storm coming up

The wind was blowing harder and

harder and soon

I could hardly see the back of

Monday 18/4

Mixed feelings – the finish is reached at last! A bit sad that the great adventure soon will be over but happy that all went so well. (In the

back ground to the right one can see a bit of the yellow Treriks-stone)

The dogs at Treriksröset

The dogs just went on towards Pältsa,

unknowingly of what they had accomplished.

Leaving Pältsa

Last stop on the mountain

Tkanks to all our hard working dogs for the great adventure
