Deo Tibba- Indrasan Circuit TrekThis trekking in himalayas is one of the most delightful treks in the Manaliregion. It’s an excellent option for a first time trekker who is reasonably fit.Indrasan (6,220 m) and Deo Tibba (6,001 m) are imposing peaks in the Pir Pinjalranges and the Hampta Pass ( 4,270 m) is the traditional route between Kullu andLahaul valleys. This trek proceeds through forests of walnut, oak and theoccasional alder and offers a close view of Mt. Deo Tibba, Mt. Indrasan and theirglaciers. The initial trek follows the river valley leading to the Hampta Pass. Asyou trek, you will cross a river, across a valley and get a beautiful view of theDeo Tibba, Indrasan peaks.

Day 1: Arrive in Manali , and check in to our cozy hotel. After lunch, it is goodto have an acclimatization walk in the surroundings of the Solang valley. Atevening, meet the trek team and guides. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 02: Manali Jagatsukh (Drive) trek to Tilgan Thach (2,650 mts, 04 hrs.) Ascentthrough the villages passing through the lush Himalayan deciduous Alpineforest. Once the tree line is passed the camp is setup in the meadow with anexcellent view of the valley.

Day 03: Tilgan - Sarotu (3,300 m, 4 – 5 hrs.) First a gradual climb over highaltitude meadows, providing awesome views of Deo Tibba and Indrasan. Wereach the high altitude meadows of Sarot . Here local shepherds of Kullu Valleygraze their herds of sheep and goat.

Day 04: Sarotu - Chhika (3,700m, around 5 hrs.) From Sarotu, we descend to themain valley. We walk through the forest of maple , pine and walnut till we reachthe meadows of Chhika. We set up camp at Chhika.

Day 05: Chhika – Base of Hampta Pass (3,800 m, 5 hrs): This short walk allowsyou to acclimatize to reach the Hamta Pass. Grassy banks, sloping down from thehigh cliffs all around, pave the trial. There are some streams to cross beforedescending back to the main valley floor. This area is popular with the Gaddishepherds in the early part of the season, grazing their flocks before continuingtheir migration to Lahaul. The camp at the base of the Hampta Pass is namedBalu ka Ghera (3,700m); brown bears are said to hibernate in the nearby rockcaves during the winter.

Day 06: Trek towards the Hampta Pass and back to camp. (4,270 m, 7-8 hrs)From camp there is a short, steep climb over scree slopes before reaching aplateau where you can view the Hampta Valley and the peaks on the far side ofthe Kullu Valley, including Hanuman Tibba (5928m). The last 200m to 300m tothe pass are steep, with views of rocky spires and hanging glaciers completingthe panorama. The Hampta Pass (4270m) is on the right side of the valley.However, there is an excellent vantage point for viewing the Lahaul Range. Backto the campsite at base of the Hampta pass.

Day 07: Trek back to Uchlung Bhiali (Jobri Stream). (3000 m, 5 hrs.) Drive toManali (2050 m, 1 hour.) We retrace our steps reaching Uchlung Bhiali and thencontinue to drive to Manali.

Day 08: Final departure from Manali.
