New members of the Daktari Family…

Hello there! My name is Zulu and this is my brother Shangaan, we are playful

Caracals that have just arrived at DAKTARI. We need a sponsor to pay for our food and upkeep. It’s only R500 per

month for both of us. Can you help?

My name is Princess Maya, I’m very tiny and very beautiful, but unfortunately people say I’m a bit smelly! I have a special diet and need a lot of care, I’m definitely a real Princess! I need a

sponsor for only R250 a month, that’s not a lot to look after royalty!

Kids from the Orphanage

In July the local school children had exams and could not come to Daktari, so instead of having a quiet,

relaxing week, we brought 10 children from a nearby orphanage, and gave them a week to remember!!

The Mongooses have moved house!

It is with lots of emotion that I spent time watching the happiness of our mongooses in their new big

camp. I could feel so much freedom and enjoyment. I wish Mrs Brigitte Bardot would have been here to

share this wonderful time with us. Thank you so much to my

compatriote BB for her donation.

We Loooove our new camp!!

Mulgrave School, Canada

Pupils from Mulgrave School in Canada made their annual trip to Daktari and this year’s

project was to build a causeway on the road into Daktari, so hopefully this year we wont get stranded by the water in rainy season!

Thanks Guys!!This year was Eddie’s last year with Mulgrave School, as he is moving on to a new adventure at a school in Korea.Daktari will miss terribly such an exceptional head master. Thank so much Eddie for your great support over the years . Good Luck Eddie!!

The

students

spent a

day with

some kids from a local village, they cooked a traditional African meal and all got to try a Mopane Worm!!

Lion King Lesson…

A change to the teaching programme means that Wednesday nights are now filled by the children (and the volunteers) watching The Lion King. The children all seem to really enjoy this privilege and the subsequent discussion on Thursday morning brings up great insights

into their thoughts about life. Questions about the circle of life, death, emotions, family and responsibility are discussed and this has now become one of our most valuable and fun

lessons!
