Origin of the Name
“lamac/lamak” – means ricefield/mud puddle.
This word tells about the major livelihood in the barangay which is farming.
Facts About Lamac• In sometime between the late 19th and the early 20th
century, Lamac came to be. During these times, mysterious things happened to people in Lamac. These were especially true to Justo Iglesia and Nemecio Palapar – the founders of La Sagrada Familia.
• Sagrada Familia is a cult following Catholic practices. They only deviate with Catholicism because they also worship Rizal and the founders of Sagrada.
• San Isidro Labrador, the patron saint of farmers is also the patron of Lamac, Pinamungajan.
Facts About Lamac• Lamac celebrates two major feast days. On May 15 (San
Isidro Labrador’s feast day) and June 10 (establishment of La Sagrada Familia). Comparing the two, there are much more food during June 10.
• Lamac, Pinamungajan has a cooperative named: Lamac Multi-purpose Cooperative (formerly known as Samahang Nayon). This has about 200 members.
• Lamac has 20 puroks which are named after flowers.

• Catholic Church
Almost all of the citizens in Lamac are Catholics. Even the members of the La Sagrada Familia claim that they are Catholics and go to this church to pray.

This resort is a testament to the success of Lamac MPC (which was known in the past as Samahang Nayon).

1850s house built by the founders of the Sagrada Familia. Members of the Sagrada Familia gather in this place in their times of worship.

Domestic water buffaloes are the animals used by farmers in their farms.
