Hanoi – Halong Bay

1. Shuttle bus/car is the most popular transport mean to Halong Bay among other options: train, helicopter…

- It is offered in Halong Bay tour package from Hanoi.

- You can join shuttle bus or hire a private car

2. Train from Hanoi to Halong Bay departs at 7:05 am (Gia Lam train station), arrive Halong Bay at 12:00 am

- Halong Bay departs at 3:00pm to get back Hanoi at 8:05pm

- This train schedule is not convenient and takes longer time than shuttle bus

3. Helicopter is available and supplied by Vietnam Northern Service Flight Company- only available for charter and be at higher budget range

4. [3.5 – 4 hours] is the certain time for transfer from Hanoi to Halong Bay for 170km distance- Road speed limit, time consuming

- 20 minutes break on the half way ( coffee shop/ souvenir)

5. You will be picking up at your hotel in Hanoi Old Quarter. 7. You can travel from Hai Phong city/ Hai Phong Airport to Halong Bay- 75 km from Hai Phong to Halong Bay - 2 hour transfer by private car- Local bus from Hai Phong bus station to Halong Bay.

8. You can travel from Halong Bay to Cat Ba island

- Taking wooden junk from Bai Chay habor to Gia Luan habor (then bus to Cat Ba town) - Taking ferry from Tuan Chau island to Cat Ba island ( daily shedule at 7:30, 9:00, 11:30, 13:30, 15:00)

9. You can travel from Halong Bay to Ninh Binh city ( another Halong Bay on land)

- local bus to Ninh Binh at Bai Chay bus station ( near harbor) - private car service

10. You can travel from Halong Bay to Sapa by bus

- daily schedule at 16:45 and 18:45, departing from BaiChay bus station to Sapa.- a long distance, nearly 500km

11. Scenic highway, transfer from Hanoi to Halong Bay passing by BacNinh, Hai Duong and QuangNinh province,

- you will get to see country side with many villages, water buffalo, rice fields…
