Process of Upgrading- Dual Boot Benefits

• Lowest risk approach

• No conversion needed for custom scripts developed on UNIX

• Space out the conversion workload. Not affecting production

• Option to new run PC programs and have UNIX as backup

• Flexibility (UNIX and PC capability on 1 system)

i3070 is a valuable asset!

1) Easy to use Operator and Debug Interface

2) AutoDebug & AutoOptimizer tools

3) Test throughput enhancements

4) Award winning Vectorless Test solutions

5) Interactive Pin Locator

Page 7: Unix win

Page 7

i3070 can do all these! Manufacturing Problem Features Benefits

Lack of skilled engineers / operators and high employee turnover rate

Graphical Operator and Debug Interface

1) Simple to Use 2) Reduced engineer learning time 3) Less reliance on Operator's proficiency in English

Auto-Debug Increased analog debug productivity through intuitive GUI and Autodebug Tools

Test-time indication Maintenance of test time through monitoring of test time during debug

High production output

Improved test generation algorithm improves throughput

- Resistor and Capacitor tests are generated with test-time optimisation considerations - Shorts test with improved algo to reduce phantom shorts

Improved Analog test throughput (Auto-Optimizer)

-Increased return on asset on test budget -Ensure stability by using statistics (user specified CPK)

Need to be able to re-use existing test fixtures and programs

Transportability to and from 3070 / i5000

Test investment protection

Need to be able to easily and quickly deploy worldwide

Transportability, Repeatability, and Stability

Our Trusted, Robust, Simple-to-use tester is easy to deploy

Lower test investment Lower list price Better return on investment

• New board tests generated with the new IPG will be faster!

• Capacitor test improvements – Improved IPG algorithm on frequency selection

• Improved algorithm of Capacitor tests using fr1024

• Select fr1024 instead of fr128 => reduce on “ed” measurements

• Possible savings of about 48% over total analog test time or about 19% of total board test time

• Resistor test improvements – Adding of guarding to cancel capacitive impedance

– Recalculating wait time for capacitive charging

– Possible savings of about 9% over total analog test time or about 3% improvement over total board test time.

IPG Enhancements - Improved IPG!

Auto-Optimizer Interface • Just by a click of a button

• The Optimizer can save from 10% to 50% of test time per test!

The Optimizer will only work with Control XTP cards.

Conversion Tools

• Prerequisites – Have a board directory with the testplan, test and all the files

compiled on SW revision b4.00pa or later.

– Be able to run IPG Test Consultant withour errors!!!

– Know the locations of board directories on both operating systems.

– Have enogh disk space. This is verified by the Conversion tool

– Know the remote logins, controller names and/or IP addresses and password of both systems.

Page 21: Unix win

Running the Conversion Tool • The Conversion Tool main screen has the same file

menu in both HP-UX and MS Windows. The Conversion Tool consists of five functions:

• Package: Merges and compresses all of the boards/<BoardName> directories text files into a single <BoardName>.cvt file.

• Transfer: Used to transfer files using FTP (file transfer protocol) to another ftp server-enabled controller.

• Extract: Extracts (uncompresses) a packaged <BoardName>.cvt file in a platform-dependent manner.

• View Log: Used to view resulting log files. • Abort: Aborts the Package or Extract process.

Page 22: Unix win

Running the Conversion Tool

Page 23: Unix win

Agilent 3070 Conversion Tool

• Review the Relevant Differences Between

HP-UX and MS Windows Operating Systems

• Verify that duplicate file names, except for

case (capitalization) in the HP-UX system,

are not causing problems.

• Search for /dev/* files in the

<BoardName>.cvt file that have meaning in

HP-UX, but are not applicable to MS

Windows.
