The UGA Office of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) Education is pleased to announce the STEM Initiative Request for Proposals (RFP). Up to $9,000 per proposal is available for projects which improve the instruction and enhance the success of students taking undergraduate STEM courses. The ultimate goal is to increase the number of STEM majors and the number of students preparing to become science and mathematics teachers in grades 6- 12. Attached are the RFP and the Budget Template. The submission deadline is July 15, 2011. Responding to a request for more time (especially for IRB approval), we plan to notify awards by the second week of August. Depending on the number and quality of proposals awarded, there may or may not be a second call for proposals in the fall. Please forward to your UGA colleagues who may be interested.
