stage & assign correct location at the first place (Ref10)
• Receiving stage - check the location again for standard (Ref10)
• Cataloging stage – • assign the correct call no. (local practice)• make sure that all bib records of standards have
“Standards” as subject.• make sure item gets sent to the right place (Ref 10)

CL Standards CollectionWhatThe Standards Collection in the NUS Central Library consists of: • Singapore Standards and International Standards such as ASTM, IEEE, ACI, ANSI,
ASME, API, ISO, IEC and BS for multi-disciplines including Engineering, Building, Medicine and Science.
WhereThere are 3 types of standards formats:1. Print format : can be found in Ref 10, Reference & Information Services Dept ( cannot
be loaned out). Therefore patrons should use the standards inside Reference only.2. CD-ROMs / E-version : can be only used in the PC which is located in the Infocomm.
(CD-R1 )3. Online subscription: available online through library portal.
HowProcessing of standards involves:1. Purchasing & cataloguing of standards, like any other resources, are processed
centrally in AM; and physical processing by L&M2. Once available, the standards will be sent to Information Services Dept (IS) staff for
shelving in Ref 10. Before the shelving, IS staff would also be responsible for informing the requestor about the availability of the standards and keep for them for 5 days.

How to locate standards in LINC/Millennium?
Search in LINC/Millennium:
1. Using the Standard number Do a keyword search using the standard number E.g. ISO 9001, BS EN ISO 9001 (must have space between
number & each set of acronym(s))
2 Using the Standard title Do a keyword search using the standard title
you will be able to find ACI standards, specification and commentaries in "ACI manual of
concrete practice”
