• Voice Over IP
• 4G LTE
• Fibre Distributed Data Interface (FDDI)
Amity School of Engineering & Technology
• Technology in communication can be broadly defined as the use of techniques that can make transfer of data from one node to other in a viable, secure, quick and economically sound manner.
• This need can be satisfied by introducing a new technology in the market or improving the prevailing Technology.

CLOUD COMPUTING
3
• In computer networking, Cloud Computing is computing that involves a large number of computers connected through a communication network such as the Internet, similar to utility computing.

• Several deterrents to the widespread adoption of cloud computing remain. Among them, are: reliability, data security, costs, regulations and legal issues, performance, migration and issues of privacy.
• The cloud offers many strong points: infrastructure flexibility, faster deployment of applications and data, cost control, improved productivity, etc.

VOICE OVER IP
11
• Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) is a methodology and group of technologies for the delivery of voice communications and multimedia sessions over Internet Protocol (IP) networks.
• Components of VoIP: IP telephone. Media gateway controller.

BASIC IDEA BEHIND VoIP
12
• Continuously sample audio.• Convert each sample to digital
form.• Send the resulting digitized
stream across an IP network in packets.
• Convert the stream back to analog for playback.
• Before the procedure above, the system must handle call setup.

NEED FOR IP TELEPHONY
13
• Economic (uses internet, IP routers).
• Further savings.
• Not only voice but also video is transmitted
using similar concepts.
• Spreads at a fast pace.
• Independent – no geographical restriction.

VoIP: A CASE STUDYTabarka studio saves with Nextiva’s VoIP phone systems: •With Tabarka legacy systems only two employees could be on the phone at a time.
•Nextiva stepped in to offer it’s hosted services which not only reduced phone call cost by 60 per cent.

4G LTE
Amity School of Engineering & Technology
LTE refers to Long Term Evolution.
4G LTE, is a standard for wireless communication of
high-speed data for mobile phones and data terminals. It is
based on the GSM/EDGE network
technologies, increasing the capacity and speed using a
different radio interface together with core network
improvements.16

FEATURES OF 4G LTE
17
• Enhanced mobile gaming.• Faster browsing and downloading rates.• Low data transfer latencies.• Broadband access in remote locations.• Simplified architecture.• LTE infrastructure can deliver services such as mobile and
can prove to a competitor to DTH based TV broadcast.

FIBER DISTRIBUTED DATA INTERFACE
21
• A Ring Network.
• Consists of two Rings i.e. Primary and Secondary.
• FDDI local area networks can support thousands of users.
• Capacity extended to 200Mbps.

ADVANTAGES OF FDDI
• Real-time allocation of network bandwidth.
• Wide array of different types of traffic.
• Fault-tolerant.
• Wrap, when the wiring fails.
• Prevent ring segmentation.

CONCLUSION• Technology in Data Communication should meet 4 standard
conditions i.e. viable, quick, secure and Economically sound.
• Cloud Computing is a computing by which data can be retrieved by any device connected on the cloud. It is platform independent and ensure easy way of Data Communication.
• VoIP refers to delivery of voice and multimedia sessions through Internet Protocols. It has can reduce call costs by 60%.
• 4G LTE is high speed communication that is used in market to provide ultra broadband internet access.
• FDDI is a Dual Ring Network that is used for communication over LAN with data rates within 100-200 Mbps.
