Acid Rain : Nature’s “Tears of
Paradise”..Acid rain = any form of precipitation with high levels with high levels of nitric +
sulfuric acids, also referred to as "atmospheric pollution"
Acid Rain occurs when Sulphur Dioxide + Nitrogen oxides are: emitted into the
atmosphere to undergo chemical transformations to absorbed by water
droplets in clouds.
Acid rain can also occur in other forms of acidic precipitation, such: snow, fog and
tiny bits of material deposits that settle to Earth

Normally, rain acidity and basicity are being measured by getting samples from the rain
and submitting it for evaluation, results are made available
several hours after the submission.
RAIN ACIDITY&BASICITY
Every time it rains, this process hinders as in providing real-time results which is very essential
preventing possible exposure in acid or basic rain. These circumstances lead the researcher in developing a
device which addresses delayed dissemination of information. Rain Classifier : The Engineered Way of Evaluating the Rain

an intelligent information system
alerts the operator in the monitoring station via Short Message Service (SMS) text
message findings of rain acidity or basicity
in a particular area

gives the people in-charge the control and ability to manage the
system through a personal password-protected online account

A self-contained
GSM signaling alarm and
information unit will send the operator an SMS to
his/her mobile phone
regarding the power of
Hydrogen (pH) level of the rain with
category of its acidity and
basicity.
The device willsend the
operator an SMS only when there is acidity
and basicity level being
tested in themonitoring
station. Every minute the
device measures the level of the acidity and
basicity of therainfall that
give accurate measurements of rain acidity and basicity.
Upon receiving an
SMSnotification
the person in-charge can disseminate
the information
quickly so the people in theaffected area
can take precautionary
measure to prevent acid
and basic rain exposure.

OF THEDEVICEThe function of the device is
dependent on the installed program in the microcontroller. Finally, the device will not deal on solving the problem caused by acid and basic
rain but evaluates only the rain acidity and basicity level.
