Web 2.0 is described as 'the second generation of the world wide web.' this means websites and apps that allow people to communicate and share information online. For example sites like Facebook, Blogger and Wikipedia fall into the category of Web 2.0. Another key aspect of Web 2.0 is the fact that these sites are usually free and although Web 2.0 is label given to a new era of the web it continues to expand and grow with the world that shapes it.

Mediation - It is changing a text or image in the media to suit the creators reality or point they wish to impose.

Proliferation - The increase of the amount of information and content given to both the audience or creators through the exposer of new or old media.

Saturation - media saturation is using the media to affect peoples decisions and choices in life.

The media is a way of communication to a wider audience using a variety of different sources and formats. Television, the internet and newspapers are just some examples of the media.

It means that the products are a result of participation and interaction with consumers. Sites like Facebook, you tube and twitter can be categorised as shared media as they all incorporate shared interactions between people.

Often the reason for censoring the media in countries like Burma, China and Ethiopia, is that the country A. doesn't want the world to influence that country in is political views or B. to give the government complete control over the amount of information given to the public. The reasoning behind this is either to keep the citizens of the country thinking that they are in a perfect country (north Korea is a good example of this) or to stop mass riots and protests against the government which wishes to keep in power.

The idea that all types of media (often referred to as the 'three C's' - computing, communication, and content) are slowly merging into one as the formats the media is presented in, such as newspapers, television and the internet, are evolving. So in time the media will become one single form.

Media is important as it helps to understand what is going on in the world. It also can help connect with the outside world and help us talk to people that we normally would not be able to talk to. It can also influence peoples views for better or worst and has become a important part of our culture and society today.
