Hello!
My name is Michaela Mullett and I am here today to discuss my idea for a new product that I have created to
meet your requirements .
My aim is to convince you that this product is the perfect one to fit your brief.
Thank you.
Simple
SimpleThe new face of women’s lifestyle magazine aimed at 16-24 year olds.
The Client
“You have been commissioned by the Northern Echo to produce a new
magazine or newspaper product. Your product could be in any style or genre but it must be self financed through sales or advertising. You must also produce your
magazine for a specified audience segment within the 16 to 25 age group”
How am I going to meet this brief? • By creating a product that is suitable for the
target audience. • Creating a product that is aimed at the B/C1/C2
socioeconomic audience, similar to that of the Northern Echo.
• Meets the standard and high quality of the Northern Echo.
• Create an exciting and original product.• Use advertising to self-finance the product.
Simple
Things to consider relating to my client
• My secondary audience will be the readers of the Northern Echo and parents of the primary audience- their needs need to be catered to as well.
• The Northern Echo has a high standard of content- this standard needs to be maintained.
• Any internal rules and regulations will need to be adhered to as well as those set by the PCC.
• Any content that is in my product will reflect on the Northern Echo- their public image can not be damaged.
• They are a local newspaper and therefore I must include local content and a community feel.

The new face of womens lifestyle?• Women’s lifestyle magazines can be extremely stereo-
typical and superficial. • Simple, will look at more real issues and help to
develop the readers better as people instead of just and image.
• There is a gap in the market for a more real magazine that women can read and feel good about themselves instead of feeling like they need to change their lives.

The genre of Womens Lifestyle
• I have always had a real interest in this genre therefore I have a lot of knowledge of the types of content and structure.
• There are a lot of women’s lifestyle on the market, but none that really make women feel good about themselves.
• I wanted to create a magazine that would not just focus on personal appearances but focus on improving people as people.

Audience
• 16-24 year old females. • Socio-economic group: B/C1/C2
The effect my audience will have on the product; • The content will have to be
relevant to their interest.• It will have to be age-
appropriate for both ends of the age range.
• Impressionable age therefore it will need to be truthful and reliable.
• The colour scheme will be girly, therefore I will use a pastel colour scheme.
• The layout will have to be active to keep them interested.
