DESCRIPTION
ChemTreat cooling water chemistries are for the prevention of corrosion and deposition in cooling water systems. Cooling tower water treatment is necessary to keep systems running at peak efficiency, extend equipment life, reduce water usage, and protect the environment. ChemTreat has a full line of cooling water treatment products for the following areas: Cooling Tower Corrosion: surface waters tend to be high in dissolved minerals. When these minerals precipitate out of the cooling water, the pipes and tubes become thinner and will eventually have to be replaced. Additioanlly, the corroded metal leads to fouling, which decreases system and process efficiency. Cooling Tower Scale: scale forms in a cooling system when minerals enter the cooling water either from the source water or from airborne impurities. These minerals precipitate in the form of scale deposits, which reduces the thermal efficiency and leads to clogging in pipes. Cooling Tower Fouling: fouling occurs when suspended material (e.g. by-products of corrosion, dust, sand, microbial growth, minerals) deposit onto heat exchange devices, decreasing the efficiency of the heat exchange devices. Cooling Tower Microbial Growth: cooling tower systems can become ideal breeding grounds for microorganisms. When allowed to accumulate, these microorganisms form a layer of bio-slime that acts as a natural adhesion surface for scale formation.
