Q u a l i t y C e r t i f i c a t i o n

ChemTreat has emphasized the consistent quality of our products since the company was founded in 1968. ChemTreat formalized these principles into a written quality program in 1988. This system supports our corporate mission of developing partnerships with our customers through providing outstanding customer service, high-quality products, and superior technical expertise. Our commitment to quality is based on total employee involvement in continuous improvement of the entire organization.

Building on this foundation, ChemTreat achieved recognition for the effectiveness of our quality system in 1994 by attaining ISO 9000 series certification at our manufacturing facilities located in Ashland, Virginia; Nederland, Texas; and Eldridge, Iowa; and for corporate functions supporting our operations. In October 2002, these certifications were upgraded to full ISO 9001 certification under the ISO 9001-2000 standard. We accomplished this upgrade over a year before the deadline and were in the first five percent of United States companies certified to the new standard.

We must also assist our customers in meeting their own objectives to minimize adverse

environmental impacts from their processes through employment of optimally effective

water treatment programs. To accomplish these goals, ChemTreat works in partnership

with customers to produce the most efficient water and energy management systems, not

only to optimize process effectiveness but also to conserve such resources as fuel, natural

waters, and materials of construction.

These goals would be impossible to achieve without the hard work and dedication of

ChemTreat’s employees. The health and safety of our employees is the foundation of our

company and continues to be one of our highest priorities. Programs developed in the

health and safety section of the environmental, health, and

safety management system are designed to protect our

employees through standardized practices and training. By

keeping our employees safe every day, ChemTreat can

continue to serve our customers at the highest level possible.

Environmenta l , Hea l th , and Sa fe ty

ChemTreat’s environmental, health, and safety policy is to

incorporate concern for the environment into all operations,

products, and services and to finish each day injury and

incident free.

Our company values specify all processes involving our

products and practices will be undertaken with a concern for

protection of the environment. Therefore, ChemTreat must do more

than just maintain environmental regulatory compliance and prevent pollution where

possible.

The microelectronics industry can be divided into marketing

segments such as communication devices, computing devices,

microelectronic components, and related peripheral

components.

Communication devices encompass audio/visual, compact

discs, radio, television, and telephone equipment. Computing

devices include computers, copiers, printers, fax, and other

peripheral machines. Related peripheral components consist of electrical

supplies and electronic engine/automotive components.

The majority of the water treatment requirements for these marketing segments are related

to heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC). ChemTreat has extensive expertise in

treating the associated HVAC process systems consisting of cooling tower water, boiler

water, and closed loop heating and cooling.

The main focus is on the microelectronic components like semi-conductor chips, printed

circuit boards, and related electronic components. The microelectronic component water

treatment systems consist of HVAC along with high-purity rinse water, process cooling and

heating water, clean steam generation, scrubber water, various process closed loops,

wastewater, and water reuse systems. ChemTreat has expertise in treating all of these

related water systems.

Using ChemTreat’s complete product line and service expertise, the problems/downtime

associated with the following types of equipment/processes can be reduced or eliminated:

softening, ultra filtration, reverse osmosis, demineralization, electrically-driven

demineralization, activated carbon filtration, cooling towers, boilers, process closed loops,

scrubbers, and waste treatment, including metal removal.

With the growing popularity of the megastores increasing bulk

purchasing contracts, a downward force is being exerted on

packaged food profit margins. This is forcing plants to put

more emphasis on production volume and strive to decrease

operating costs.

Our approach is based on a partnership contract with client

plants. It enables us to help reduce production costs in areas

previously thought to be outside the water treatment domain; processing less expensive

cans, solving line speed increases, and sterilizer maintenance issues.

With government regulatory requirements, plant management needs strict measures to

document compliance. ChemTreat stays abreast of government agency changes helping our

clients avoid expensive audit failures.

Today's consumer is increasingly more sensitive to container appearance. Blemishes, rust,

and flaws are serious concerns for producers. ChemTreat leads the water treatment field

with programs to maximize container appearance.

Water used to be one of the most inexpensive commodities and may be the most important

and highly-used necessity in any food processing plant. With today's ambitious

environmental regulatory changes, the cost of water has become a major topic. This is often

related to the discharge rather than just the cost of bringing water into the plant.

ChemTreat has been instrumental in helping many food processing facilities across the

country reduce water consumption through specific process changes and improvements.

The construction of large, new, independent power plants has

resulted in one of the largest growth areas in the water

treatment industry. These IPPs will provide the expansion of

the electrical power generation needed for many years to

come. As plants become increasingly integrated, they require

an experienced team of water treatment professionals to meet

their unique needs. New ways in which to use atypical waters are

being developed to address the high demand on local water

resources. These same demands, along with tight environmental restrictions, can also require

complex waste minimization equipment.

ChemTreat is uniquely positioned to provide engineering services and support for design,

pre-operational, startup, and continued plant operation. Of critical importance is our ability

to provide an experienced team, local representation, and corporate engineering, which will

remain constant throughout these important stages of a plant’s operating life.

The modern textile manufacturing plant faces a myriad of

challenges associated with process water handling equipment.

ChemTreat has pioneered the development of effective water

management programs for the critical chilled water and air

washer systems

that provide temperature and humidity control for the

conditioned air spaces in the manufacturing facilities.

These programs provide optimum control of corrosion and deposits within air washer

internals, mist eliminators, and chiller evaporator surfaces. These programs also provide

supply air electrostatic charge adjustment where deemed necessary.

Te xt i l e

Increasing demand for compressed air within these facilities has rendered compressor

cooling water systems among the plants’ most critical areas. ChemTreat has worked with
