Did you know that BDPA Memphis Chapter

won the National HSCC Championships in

2001, 2002, 2003 and 2004 - becoming the

FIRST chapter to ever win four (4) national

HSCC championships in a row.

Well before I explained the story, let me share what is BDPA

HSCC. The BDPA National High School Computer Competition, (HSCC),

was founded in 1986 by Dr. Jesse Bemley, of Washington, D.C. What

started as a two-team event between Washington, D.C. and Atlanta, Ga.

has grown to over 20 teams of various high school students from chap-

ters throughout the nation. It's all designed to introduce our Youth to

the field of Information Technology, encourage them to seek higher lev-

els of education, and groom many of them to become our next genera-

tion of IT professionals. Not only did the champions earned Bemley

scholarships but several received the opportunity to get jobs with

Memphis companies.

Today the Memphis Chapter is back and ready to build on the leg-

acy of their past. Thanks to Memphis Chapter President Kareem DaSil-

va, the members are ready to rock and

roll. Please read more about what we have done

and we hope you will join us as we have so much

to accomplish by the end of 2017.
