Business Context power generation

This lighting solution was developed by Mindteck for a UK-based utility company.

The system is currently implemented in a UK port city of Southampton and

controls the street lights of the city through a wireless network. Each street light

pole has one “Intelligent Lighting Node” installed. These nodes can measure the

power consumption of the lamp connected to it, and controls the ON/OFF feature

and the brightness level. Nodes are ZigBee enabled and can interact with the other

nodes in the neighbouring poles. Approximately 500 such poles are grouped and

master control for the entire group is done by “Sub-Master Gateway”, a Linux OS-

based board with on-board storage for data logging. With the ambient light sensor

on the gateway, ZigBee can take control of nodes based on the intensity of light.

Gateway also has a 3G interface for communi-cating to the base station Solution Approach Developed the complete hardware and software for the system. Certified solution as per CE standards. ATMEL ARM9 processor-based Gateway design. Ember EM250 ZigBee SoC based 2.4 GHz IEEE 802.15.4 compliant radio

transceiver. Differential ports for RX and TX, Balun transformer-based

design. External power amplifier and Low Noise amplifiers with

matching circuits. Solution Components Wireless range test and validation. Maximum transmit power of +22dBm, with power amplifier. Range achievement of above 800 meters between ZigBee nodes mounted on the

poles. 3G interface development based on an off-the-shelf module from Motorola. DALI, Non-DALI, relay controls for controlling different types

of Lamps. Harmonic filter implementations. Value Delivered Scalable, reliable and maintainable solution. Integration with multiple variants of off-the-shelf luminaires and blinds

control devices. Schedules execution with sensor inputs for automated

operations.

enterprise PV operations solution for solar power generation for periodic

monitoring of the harvested solar power fed into the electricity grid, fault

information metric to NOCs, energy and mining production data, analytics and

reporting, billing and CRM, maintenance scheduling and field force workflow
