GoogleGoogle Inc. is an American public corporation. It is a widely used search engine that uses text-matching techniques to find web pages that are important and relevant to a user's search .
It was founded by Larry Page and Sergey Brin. It began in 1996 as a research project at Stanford University in California. They thought that a search engine that analyzed the relationships between websites would produce better ranking of results than existing techniques.
Yahoo
Yahoo was founded by Jerry Yang and David Filo in Santa Clara, California on March 1, 1995.
The Web site started out as "Jerry and David's Guide to the World Wide Web" but eventually received a new moniker with the help of a dictionary – YAHOO!
The two were Ph.D. candidates in Electrical Engineering at Stanford University, started the original “guide” in a campus trailer in February 1994 as a way to keep track of their personal interests on the Internet.
Meta Search
A meta-search engine is a search tool that sends user requests to several other search engines and/or databases and aggregates the results into a single list or displays them according to their source.
It works by taking a user's request, passing it to several other heterogeneous databases and then compiling the results in a homogeneous manner based on specific step-by step instructions.
Boolean
Boolean search is an internet search engine uses operators with keywords to narrow search parameters. The operators include AND, OR, quotation marks, and NOT
Examples include:-AND narrows results by searching for pages that contain both keywords. -OR expands results by search for pages that contain either of the keywords.-When you use the NOT operator, you get all the material including the one of the keywords and not the other

How does Google Make Money?
Advertisement, that’s how Google is making its money. Every time you do a search on Google, you’ve probably noticed that there was a section called “Sponsored Links”. Every time you click on one of those links, Google charge a certain amount of money to the website for the click.
