Encore OPACOctober 2011 Update

The Encore OPAC upgrade adds some new features to

the library catalog.

One of the biggest changesis the addition ofAdvanced Search.

The Advanced Search link is located directly under the search box on our OPACs...

…and in the results pages.

Advanced search lets you search Keyword, Title,

Author, or Subject.

Combine terms withAND – OR – NOT

boolean logic.

Limit by Format.

Limit by Collection.

Limit by Location.

Let’s do a search for cats and limit to DVD and VHS.

Click the dropdown menu to Limit by Format.

Choose DVD.

Now we need to add another Format box.

Click the plus sign.

Click the dropdown menu to Limit by Format.This time, choose

videocassette.

We’re searching for items with the keyword Cat.

And we’re limiting our results to DVD and

videocassette.

Click Search.

Here’s our results list for 106 videos/DVDs related to Cats.
