33

Transition Assessment

Review current usage for DDM environment Define use cases for current environment Document data security architecture Document data volume Product customization Integration with business process Client access methods

– Web Browser– ODMA (ie Microsoft Office)– Notes Client

Determine product feature requirements for target system Don’t expect a direct migration of all features, access

methods, etc The migration will require adjustment in the usage of the

environment

Page 34: Domino Document Manager

34

Define use cases for Domino Document Manager

Evaluate how the product is being leveraged within your organization

Is the system being leveraged as simple file repository?

Is the system being leveraged as enterprise content management system?

What are the business processes tied to the system?

Page 35: Domino Document Manager

35

Domino Document Manager Data Security

Document how the component level security is applied to the system

Can the security be mapped into the target system?

Page 36: Domino Document Manager

36

Domino Document Manager Data Volume

Determine how much content is being stored in system Total volume Document counts

How is that data structured? Library File Room File Cabinet Binder

Page 37: Domino Document Manager

37

Domino Document Manager Product Customization

Define customizations made within system Custom applications

– ODMA integration– Domino.doc API– Custom agents

System design modifications Document event handlers

Companion products used with system Image scanners, etc

Page 38: Domino Document Manager

38

Domino Document Manager Process Integration

Define if DDM integrated into existing business processes Custom Workflows Document retention Order Entry Etc…

Can the functions be mapped into the target system?
