Derived Credentials

• Solution Elements– Enable security management company to convert a current credential into

new, digital formats– Provide User ability to present/receive credential in an offline environment

by leveraging optical communications (no Wi-Fi/Bluetooth/BLE)– Provide a platform that can hold/present/scan limitless types of information– Convert an existing credential into a fully secure, motionQR Code– Provide the capability of digitally signing any information

Sample Use Case – Derived Credentials4

Page 5: Derived Credentials - motionQR Use Case

The User uploads her existing credentials …

.. including photograph, biometric scans and/or other identification information.

Security management company verifies the uploaded credentials and issues a new derived credential via motionQR.

The User receives her new derived credential from within a dedicated app or from within a general purpose motionQR app.

The credential, containing digitally signed content, is then stored upon User’s mobile device in the form of a completely secure motionQR Code.

Page 6: Derived Credentials - motionQR Use Case

The authorized Receiver (shown here as a mobile device) scans and decrypts the motionQR Code in an offline environment.

The authorized Receiver then verifies not only the validity and content of the credential, but also confirms the Issuer via the motionQR Code’s digital signature.

The derived credential with signed and/or encrypted information remains securely on User’s mobile device in the form of a motionQR Code.

The User presents her motionQR Code to be read by an authorized Receiver (shown here as a PC) in an offline environment.

If authorized, the User may then granted access various physical and/or digital resources by using this derived credential.
