Version 2 video Combustion Reactions – A substance combines
with Oxygen releasing a large amount of energy in the form of light and heat
Jig Saw Project(If your group completes do Combustion as well )
First group is assigned a reaction type – Make sure everybody in the group can –
Explain the reaction type and why it happens
Give and explain important vocabulary terms associated with the type
Give specific examples of each style of the reaction type
Second Groups will have representative from all reaction types – You will –
Explain you reaction type – styles – vocabulary and specific examples for each reaction type
Complete your notes as other types are explained
Answer the question – Which of the first four reaction types could a specific combustion reaction also be considered to be?
Tutorial Extra Credit – 15 points I. Prepare questions you have for tutor – a
minimum of 1 question from each of the 3 levels.
II. Take at a minimum of 1 page of notes from tutorial session.
III. Have a signature from the tutor confirming your work with them.
Test Recovery If you scored under 90% and would like to improve your grade follow the steps below. 89% is the highest grade allowed on recovered tests. ½ Credit is given for all questions corrected as instructed.
I. State what your mistaken question and answer were.
II. Explain the thinking error that caused you to miss the question.
III. State the correct answer.
IV. Justify your answer with a reference in the text. Show any work necessary to solve the problem.
