Carroll County Public Library Technology Competencies The vision of the Carroll County Public Library is to inspire, educate, and empower our community. Technology has changed the expectations of library customers, thus we will continue to incorporate technology to improve public service. From showcasing our digital collections to promoting emerging technologies, we lead innovation in our community. The following competency lists will reveal areas of potential growth for staff and will help to support them by providing guidance in the realm of technological comprehension. The technology competency lists are not exhaustive and are not designed to replace existing departmental trainings but rather complement them. They describe an appropriate level of technical expertise and the ability to adapt and apply new technologies to improve CCPL services and products. Ultimately, they should help streamline workflow, facilitate opportunities to meet our service goals, improve customer experiences, and encourage continued technology education.
