  • 2. What is the SWE?
    The Society of Women Engineers (SWE) is an educational service non-profit organization composed of men and women working together to establish Engineering as a highly desirable profession for women by encouraging them to achieve full potential in careers as engineers and leaders.
  • 3. What is the SWE-Team Tech Competition?
    The SWE Team Tech Competition is anationwide competition that is done every year, in which universities throughout the United States compete, as a team composed of twelve members or less, at the regional and national conferences of the SWE. This is the first year SWE-UPRM will participate in the competition.
  • 4. Objectives:
    The purpose of the competition is to do a project in which a team of each university has to collaborate with a company to design, test, and manufacture a prototype using Engineering principles.
    This project should provide an intellectual challenge and offer a significant benefit to the company sponsoring the project.
  • 5. The judging is based upon:
    • The ability of the team to work together
    • 6. The use of engineering processes
    • 7. The final product
    • 8. The quality of the results
    • 9. The ability of the team to work with an industry.
    • 10. The ability to accomplished the project on time.
