2. What is the SWE?
The Society of Women Engineers (SWE) is an educational service
non-profit organization composed of men and women working together
to establish Engineering as a highly desirable profession for women
by encouraging them to achieve full potential in careers as
engineers and leaders.
3. What is the SWE-Team Tech Competition?
The SWE Team Tech Competition is anationwide competition that is
done every year, in which universities throughout the United States
compete, as a team composed of twelve members or less, at the
regional and national conferences of the SWE. This is the first
year SWE-UPRM will participate in the competition.
4. Objectives:
The purpose of the competition is to do a project in which a team
of each university has to collaborate with a company to design,
test, and manufacture a prototype using Engineering
principles.
This project should provide an intellectual challenge and offer a
significant benefit to the company sponsoring the
project.
5. The judging is based upon:
The ability of the team to work together
6. The use of engineering processes
7. The final product
8. The quality of the results
9. The ability of the team to work with an industry.
10. The ability to accomplished the project on time.
