Tega Cay Trails
Based on a presentation given by Ben Ullman at the October 6th Tega Cay Parks and Recreation meeting
Provide Tega Cay residents and visitors with enjoyable off-road trails for biking and hiking
Mission:
Existing Path & Trail System
• Enjoys use by many groups
• Several miles of paved path
– Tega Cay Drive path
– Powerline path
– Runde Park loop
• Some off-road trails
– Linereaux Turner Nature Trail
– Boy Scout trail
Diversify with Off-road
• Provide additional routes
• Show off more nature
• Ease congestion on existing routes
• Provide more technical terrain
Guiding Principles
Respect the land — build and maintain sustainable trails
Promote ‘The Good Life’ and Tega Cay’s image as recreational community
Promote cooperation, safety, and respect between user groups

• Tega Cay has a beautiful and diverse landscape
• Many areas are ecologically sensitive

• Beautification committee
• Potential mountain bike club
Promote cooperation, safety, and respect between user groups
Design to avoid conflict
• Mixed-use trails should accommodate different types of users safely
• Provide alternate routes to ease congestion in popular areas
• Provide pedestrian-only areas and bike-only areas as needed
Design for safety
• Easier trails more accessible; advanced trails more remote
• Trail features designed to manage traffic and user speed
• Our kids are already exploring the woods — with our help, these places can be safer
