Sport is synonymous with health and well-being, topics that we take on as a goal to improve our quality of life.
Sport is a synonym of discipline and education, as a measure to learn to overcome ourseleves daily.
Sport is a reference for public administration, which backs activities that offer direct benefits to society, such as the activities organized by the Sports Department at the Mijas Town Hall
COMENIUS PROJECT: ACTIVE, SPORTIVE, HEALTHY, EUROPEAN YOUNG TEAM
Main objectives:Sports promotion among young people through sports school, the Municipal Sports Games, and organizing different events.Activities directed to adults. With a wide range of possibilities offered in the three villages of the municipalityProgrammes for groups with disabilities.Supporting federated sportSupport amateur sports. Local leagues.Organization of all kinds of sporting events

Sport centresThere are very good municipal sports facilities:CIUDAD DEPORTIVA DE LAS LAGUNAS This is the large municipal sports and leisure centre. It has a six-lane running track, an athletic pitch, and a long jump area. As well as football, there is handball and basketball. There is also a indoor Municipal Swimming Pool and a tennis court with a full programme of exercise classes

Sport centresCAMPO DE FÚTBOL DE OSUNILLASThis large grass floodlit football pitch has recently undergone a full renovation and is now an important venue for local training and football matches. It also has many excellent sport facilities.

Sport centresPABELLÓN CUBIERTO DE LAS CAÑADAS: This large sports has a central indoor area of sprung parquet flooring. There are many sports facilities and sports events held here.

Sport centresATHLETIC TRACK HIPPODROME COSTA DEL SOL: This athletics stadium, grass field, equipped with complete facilities for this sport and a grandstand for spectators thousand seats and fully equipped gym.

Outdoor SportsYou can practice different sports, like hiking, mountain biking and horseback riding through the beautiful natural environment around the Costa del Sol in Malaga, specifically, the natural park of the Sierra of Mijas
